Grand Central in B&WPosted by Charles (New York, United States) on 1 April 2009 in Architecture. I need to practice taking shots of the sunrays...always seems to result in blown out highlights or too dark! "If you are out there shooting, things will happen for you. If you're not out there, you will only hear about it." ....Jay Maisel.

Anna.C from LA ROCHELLE, Francegreat scene ! beautiful mono and good light effect ! (it's not easy, I know, but it works well ) I like the silhouettes and the movement. 1 Apr 2009 7:31am @Anna.C: Thanks. The tripod would not have helped here! (Unless I did HDR). Veronique from Sarrouilles, FranceThis place is incridibly high ! You would like the rays to be more accentuated with a lighter background ? 1 Apr 2009 7:39am @Veronique: Actually I would like less brightness out of the center window. But not really possible with the way I took the shot. Thanks and it is high! Ana Lúcia from Leiria, PortugalAbsolutely WONDERFUL, love the lighting, well captured. 1 Apr 2009 11:43am @Ana Lúcia: Thanks. Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesSuch a beautiful building. The architecture is quite distinctive. Love the rays of light. 1 Apr 2009 12:23pm @Laurie: Thanks Laurie. I like how you can see the zodiac signs after they cleaned the roof. Makes for a much nicer building. Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandI guess you'll need to work with HDR then ;) But even with the blown out parts it's a great capture of this buzzing station! 1 Apr 2009 1:31pm @Monique: I hadn't thought of that! I shot in raw so I can adjust the exposure. I'll give it a try. Thanks. @NarB: Thanks. @mo.langel: Thanks. Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesBeautiful. The flag really pops and the movement is great. 1 Apr 2009 10:14pm @Steve Rice: Thanks. Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesIt looks like the hand of God is about to reach into the station. I love it, there's bright light, but still good contrast. 1 Apr 2009 10:35pm @Chris Parr: Thanks. Sugata from Newark, United StatesThis has come out really well! Thanks. bridget from Western WA, United StatesI've missed a lot since i got sick and out of a visiting rhythm - this is a wonderful photo - your eye for GC is wonderful, every shot is fresh; the dark down low emphasises how all the beautiful people in NY wear black ;-) 20 Apr 2009 3:28pm |
