I know what you mean. I also imagine it was difficult to maneuver in a crowded area too. I often had shots where the best one had some part of the ceiling cutting the corner, but I think there's no way to crop it without interfering with the main subject of the photograph.

I think the people are an important element in this photo....suggestion of sense of "place", adds contrast, provides depth. I like the contrast between the action of the the fireworks and the still blackness of the silhouettes.

@Bess: I actually like the people also...but I could do without the ceiling on the right. When i cropped it too much disappeared. (I should learn the clone tool!). Thanks for the comment Bess.
